Our quiz bowl-formatted middle school question sets offer middle schoolers the opportunity to play the game on questions geared to their level of experience and education while learning what they may need to learn for high school competitions.
Past question sets can be downloaded from quizbowlpackets.com or from the bottom of the page. These free questions may be used for practice, but must not be used for competitions under any circumstances.
Available Dates
Our middle school octangular question sets are available for purchase annually between the beginning of January and the end of May.
Question Set Format
The set includes eight rounds of 16/16 (tossups/bonuses) and a half-packet of 10/10 replacement questions. Tossups are powermarked. Bonuses have three parts, which are designed to be read one part at a time.
Normal rounds of high school quiz bowl questions are 20 tossups and 20 bonuses long. For our questions, we shortened the literature distribution, which is often very difficult for middle schoolers, from 4/4 to 3/3. We also removed the miscellaneous questions and the philosophy and social sciences, which are not usually represented in middle school curricula.

For seven years between 2014 and 2022, the middle school question sets below were adapted from the SCOP Novice question set, an introductory-level high school question set. These sets consist of 20/20 question rounds and include miscellaneous, philosophy, social science, and 4/4 literature per round.
